Essential infrastructure, including hospitals, schools and drinking water networks, suffered considerable damage, leaving thousands of families without shelter or access to basic services. In addition, historic monuments such as monasteries and pagodas have been damaged, adding to the trauma of local communities.

Our colleagues in the Korean branch quickly set up an emergency aid programme to meet the immediate needs of the affected populations. The following items have already been distributed:
- 30-31 March: distribution to 500 families around Inle Lake (rice, detergent, salt, candles, oil, instant noodles, non-food items, etc.)
- 31 March: distribution to 60 families of rice, oil, noodles, bread, tinned food and water
- 2 April: 1,000 bags of rice for the victims of Inle Lake
- 2 April: distribution to 40 families of food and hygiene products
We fully support their initiative and are appealing to your generosity to support these vital actions.
The funds raised will enable us to continue this emergency aid action and provide practical assistance on the ground:
- Distribution of food and drinking water.
- Provision of emergency medical care.
- Setting up temporary shelters.
- Support for the reconstruction of essential infrastructure.
Your support is crucial to help the Burmese people overcome this disaster. Thank you for your solidarity.
