ACTIONS IN SUPPORT OF BEEKEEPING

Essential to life, bees meticulously carry out the pollination of many plants. They also offer great potential and new opportunities for small-scale farmers.

BEEKEEPING IN OUR PROJECTS

From swarm capture to improved honey preservation techniques, including extraction, FH offers comprehensive beekeeping training tailored to the needs of local communities. These sessions cover the entire beekeeping cycle: identifying and capturing swarms, hive installation and maintenance, bee health monitoring, modern honey extraction techniques, hygiene and quality standards, as well as methods for storing and adding value to hive products. Through this approach, FH strengthens beekeepers’ capacities while promoting sustainable and profitable beekeeping, contributing to food security and income generation.

MELIPONICULTURE

As pioneers, we are among the first to offer meliponiculture training to our partners and project participants. Aware of the ecological and economic potential of stingless bee farming, we have integrated this innovative practice into our projects to diversify income sources while respecting local biodiversity. By promoting this still little-known sector, we contribute to the preservation of native pollinators and to the empowerment of rural communities through gentle, accessible, and sustainable beekeeping.
