GIVE A TREE TO A FARMER!

"Thanks to FH, I have obtained fifty banana plants. Today, my plantation is producing a good harvest. We eat some of it and the rest we sell. I was also able to buy two goats. I'll be giving a few plants to my neighbours for the next season" Gervais, Burundi

Why a tree?

Trees play a crucial role in agroecology and agroforestry. Integrating them into farming practices offers a host of ecological, economic and social benefits. Trees help to create more sustainable and resilient systems, while improving the quality of life of local communities and preserving natural resources.

Through our agro-ecological transition and climate change resilience projects, we are helping to plant more trees in Uganda, Burundi, Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Planting trees is useful for

  • Conserving and improving soil fertility.
  • Preserving biodiversity.
  • Resilience in the face of climatic hazards.
  • Water conservation.
  • Fruit for consumption and wood for construction or heating.
  • CO2 sequestration.

Some of the trees used in our projects:

  • A banana tree costs CHF 20.-
  • A mango tree costs CHF 40.-
  • An avocado tree costs CHF 80.-

Your donation will enable us to care for a young plant from the nursery until it is planted by the farmer and produces fruit.

Thank you !
